So now Gillon regrets not sending Fremantle and North Melbourne into a Grand Final playoff for 2020Premiership. Once again Gill, it's a bit late compliments of you and the Melbourne centrally located hierarchy of the AFLW. The vote for a playoff between Freo and the Kangas was never going to get up when a vast majority of AFLWPA members were linked to Victorian based teams and how an ex swimmer come TV personality born and bred in Melbourne gets to be boss of the AFLW I don't know. Another anomaly of our national sport, AFL.

It still riles me that the AFL didn't have the courage to award Freo the premiership based on being the best performing side across the season. Would it have so controversial?? Can you imagine Collingwood's reaction if they had been in the same position.

I dont think he regrets it at all. They could have rescheduled for later in the year. They could still run it as a precursor to this season, it was disrespectful to both ours and North Melbourne's players. if it was any other club something would have been done, we are not even an afterthought.

I'm as disappointed as the next Freo supporter, but they pulled the plug because they had to. That being said, I don't think the leadership and oversight of the AFLW league is all that flash - time for a big shake-up.

I have no problem with the plug being pulled given the circumstances at that time and the nature of the semi-professional nature of the comp, however, there was only one undefeated team in the comp and they (we) deserved acknowledgement for that achievement. I don’t hear too many complaints about the Wildcats being given the premiership when their finals series was stopped early and I think the same would have been the case if Freo had received the cup based on performances up to the completion of the season. It was a gutless non-decision by the AFL(W).
