Yeah, the freedom of choice comes in nominating for the draft. Players aren't required to and if they do, they are confirming they're open to moving across the country.
The AFL has introduced that many measures to allow more open and easy methods for players to get to their club of choice, they're on the verge of compromising their 'equity' system. You can look at Hawthorn or Geelong and the plethora of quality players near their prime they were able to pick up despite having little trade capital due to finishing near or on top of the ladder.
This is a non issue for mine and Perkins should have been disciplined for those comments. You can't nominate for the draft and declare you will only go to one place, it's a national competition.
