TOPIC: Lewis Jetta

Yeah, nah... maybe.
I'd like to bring him in as a rookie on a 1-year contract. Tell him if he can't beat and consistently out play the other rookies, then that's it... back to the black ducks.

At 31 years of age, it's still possible for him to get himself super-fit and elevate himself above the level of fitness of an average AFL player. That's his only way of re-establishing an AFL career. I wouldn't mind seeing him on our list - rookie or whatever - but I'd want to see him taking down Brett Bewley in the 2k Time Trials.

To me those time trial results mean little Gidge. Bewley might be great at them but it didn't mean her got hold of the ball that often.

Longmuir doesn't need Jetta, he is already playing Hill out of position in that role. Both of them are past it. Young, Conca and Blakely are the half backs. Bewley and Aish could also play there but are more wingmen like Hill is.

And when there's nothing else to write about, TheWest comes up with this...

Five AFL clubs that should look at picking up axed West Coast Eagles defender Lewis Jetta

"Fremantle
Again, Jetta doesn’t necessarily fit the rebuild profile for the Dockers, but there is merit in them even just rookie listing the former Eagle.

Exciting youngster Hayden Young could learn a lot from Jetta, giving him almost his own personal coach in a time when the soft caps are being significantly reduced post the COVID-19 affected 2020 season.

Young is one of the brightest prospects in the AFL and the Dockers should be doing all they can to ensure he is given the best chance to shine.

Some would argue Stephen Hill could do this, but given his recent battles with injuries, it would probably be best if he concentrates on getting himself right so he can have an impact at AFL level.

Jetta would likely spend most of his time at Peel Thunder in the WAFL, where again he could be an on-field coach to those pushing for selection, and if Young gets injured then he can step straight in and have an impact to for the Dockers.

It could be a good transition for Jetta into the coaching world and wouldn’t cost the Dockers a lit."

Sounds awesome let’s pick somebody that will mostly play for Peel. Pick a player that will essentially be a coach, brilliant let’s recruit Bloody Harvey.

How’s this how about we recruit players that will play football, maybe even players that we need on the field.

They didn't use Jetta forward with Rioli out.
Most of his highlights with Sydney was speed and goals.
There's always the the thought of a injury in the background with him playing back.

In 2010, Jetta's debut season, he scored 19 consecutive behinds without a goal. In round 19, against Hawthorn at the Sydney Cricket Ground, he kicked his first goal late in the game to break his streak and received a standing ovation from the crowd.

NO NO NO

The highlight's shown in the past weeks was his speed and goals.
2012 season of 45 goals 17 points ain't bad going forward before Buddy arriving.
I would be happy for a first year player kicking nineteen behinds straight and ending with seven goals twenty one points at the end of year in twenty games..hoping he incorporates a shutter run-up the next season to help his kicking accuracy.

See I thought what happened when Jetta kicked his first goal was awesomely hilarious; an arena filled with pathos. It was Clive-esque.
