Everyone knows how hard it is to develop a key forward and how valuable they are in your side. Fremantle have a sad history of being unable to do this and a long history now of not being able to apply scoreboard pressure by kicking enough goals.

So what do good old Freo do? Delist or trade three of them in one year. Dixon for nothing after trying to play him as a backman. McCarthy goes for nothing without giving him a few games to see if we could get a trade. Hogan, after also being tried in the backline goes down as our ultimate worst trade in club history....and there have been a few.

It's bloody hard being a Fremantle supporter.

Can't really add much to that. Very disappointing. Not that he was ever a forward, but Nyhuis kicked 4 goals on debut - and we delisted him too.

There is something about the combination of both CamMac and Hogan walking out the door for nothing within a few months that makes things so much worse.

The most generous view is that Bell and JLo are making a virtuous stand about club culture, and we’re a bit unlucky that our knuckleheads happened to be the types of players who help us kick goals.

The least generous view is something along the lines of Bell and/or JLo couldn’t be bothered with the hassle of both of those players and so purposefully didn’t select them until they got so shirty they had an excuse to let them go.

The real view is likely somewhere in-between; but it reminds me a bit of that year that Lyon got sick of everyone saying he was a control freak and so he seemed to stop coaching entirely, and we sucked, as if to say ‘see what happens!’

It’s not the worst part about this, but Hackdorn and others said the writing was on the wall for Hogan at the start of the season. You just know he’s taking a victory lap right now.

Maybe we could do a FREO and convert our pick 12 into something like 20 & 46 or something like that... I see Adelaide have both 22 & 40. Surely they don't need 10 picks and would gladly swap to get closer up in rnd 1.

Just reflecting on all the Talls we have tossed out,

I think we have all missed what is really going on. Belly, is about 175cm in height and I'm thinking it is one of two things,

i) He couldn't hold up the magnet board high enough for all the big blokes to see and this was why they were missing the coaches game plan messages
ii) He was scared of being squished by some of our not so coordinated big men and thier size 18 double pluggers?.

Might also explain Rory's new run up kicking for goal? It's a little in joke dig at PB, to keep him away in the change rooms?

Come on...look at the WAFL..who scores goals as a big marking,pack crushing big body for the their age. It's not rocket science..Its just the science has became to rigid. I used to see Jack Darling play as a junior then West Perth and he wasn't a stand out. He was a big boy and last year at West Perth was poor...maybe to West Coast wishes.
