Think this is about right for 2020

It was always going to take time to learn a new gameplan under first-year coach Justin Longmuir. The COVID-19 training restrictions just made things even more difficult, but once things clicked into gear, the Dockers were one of the tightest defences in the League despite their key injuries. They improved in 2020 to finish 12th on the ladder and were a Jack Newnes kick away from being in the finals hunt.

I think even with the Caaarlton game ,if it was a win ,we still needed two and a half more to get after that game ,But looking at the ladder 38 points for eighth,so still a game and a half out ,even with the win against the dogs,Collingwood's draw got them in.Also Melbourne and Collingwood has 10% better than us.
As much as the Carlton game still makes me cringe it was not the reason we missed out."Triple stuff up",you betcha.

Jezz, he did say

Jack Newnes kick and 3 other losses under 13 points.

Given the bad luck with injuries, a bit of good luck in those close losses could have seen us playing the eagles in an elimination final this year.
