Well Conca has obviously done the job, mainly on the best small forward,i suppose it could be classed as a tagging role ,but he also drfits a fair way up the ground during games, also Crowden has been doing a tagging role also to great effect, doing a great job on Daniels, for 90% of the game, the last game .
I was just thinking ,the last tagger we had was Banfield ,though not for a full season, then he was dropped ,and has not played a lot since. He also gave Serong the job a lot.so that's three tagging jobs every game ,Serong got it on Dangerfield in his first game i think., and most of the year since..
I was thinking does JL do this as a way of stopping the opposition getting away from us by restricting a player who can turn a game, so by doing this he protects our young side from getting smashed regularly , i know one player could not achieve this all the time.So as to not destroy confidence in young players ,When he was doing defence at Collingwood,i cannot recall there being a tagger with them.
Or will this always be part of his game plan?. I can recall clubs having one stopper but three ?.
