Wonder if Stephen Coniglio might be getting a bit homesick?

WTB, if they chucked it in coz they're not getting paid enough at those salaries, let em go, there are players around who will take their jumper in a heartbeat. While we like to watch them play, we don't need to watch them.

Don’t know how trades will work out this year. If all teams are told to cut numbers for each 1 person cut It equate to one football teams worth of players. So many teams will be able to look over the scraps and pickup what they want. Those higher quality player that would like to move on could be more tightly held by their clubs.

We should make a play for English and Coniglio. What does this involve?

I’m hoping we only have to move on a couple more players and keep most of those players on the list for depth. If we moved on Meek we would only have two forwards as backup ruckmen. I have no idea where he is at but he’s still young and talked up as progressing well.
I also want to go to the draft rather than trade for players. Happy to pick up discarded players or mature agers with a late pick but if we only take 3 picks this might not happen.
We really need to target anyone In the draft that likes to kick a goal regardless of their position.

I think the draft is the go this year, we only have 2 picks in the first 4 rounds, our 1st round pick (currently pick 6) and Melbourne’s second rounder( currently pick 28). To me that looks like a top 10 pick (after deficit applied and any compo pick Adelaide get if crouch leaves) and matching a bid on western with pick 28, if a bid comes for Walker we may need to trade a future 2nd or 3rd round pick to match it without going into deficit again.
I think that would be a good result if it means we keep most of our current squad.

blakely has a contract, cant see them negotiating a release so he is either traded or stays.

I can see them keeping valente.

I think meek stays, at least on a 1 year extension, depends if any ruckman in the draft. At worst case he and dixon both have some trade currency being talls. Better to get some later picks to top up points deficit than getting nothing at all.

You're not far off PK. I reckon Brandon Walker has gone ahead of Western in attracting a bid at the draft which is likely to be in the 20's. If we manage a top 10 pick plus Walker and Western, I'd be happy on draft day. If we also have rookie spots available or later picks, we'd have to take a ruckman, someone like Kalin Lane if he hasn't gone already.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.
