The Strokes released a new record this year and its a fine return to form. There is a wonderful track entitled, "an Ode to the Mets", written on a subway platform after another loss. The New York Mets are baseball's equivalent of us in so many ways. The lead singer who wrote the song has "quit sports", the arrogant little twat has a way with his words and i wanted to share why he has quit sports. Tragically, he is also a Jets supporter who are the NFL's equivalent of us.
If a team you’re rooting for loses, you have this weird deflated thing that doesn’t make any sense—the team has nothing to do with you," Casablancas says. "You have this genetic code that kind of makes you feel like your village was burned down, but really just some random people you don’t know lost a made-up game." (Curiously, after decades of sports-induced misery, his final straw was the Jets drafting Sam Darnold instead of Josh Allen in 2018.)
Sounds familiar, but dont agree. You know the jumper and that's all you need to know really.
