I think over the history of the club he may well be our most consistent and reliable player.

Is he our most accurate kick for goal??.

Certainly is in a pressure situation...but i suspect he is 'in general'.

I would argue his continual gameday contribution is puts him right up there.

Forget 'Consistent Best' .....I'm thinking 'Our Greatest'. Is he our " Most Influential? " Pav and Fyfe are his competitors...but I reckon he has claims....

Ok...i've done some research.
From AFLtables.comI've got the stats of every freo player since 1995. I've taken their 'goals scored' and divided by ' total scoring shots' (Goals +Points). Put them all into Excel and done a 'data sort ' on the subsequent scoring percentage.

For the exercise there 40 players who have kicked over 51 goals for Freo since 1995.

To answer my query, - surprisingly - Mundy is 30th on that list at 55.2% (139 goals)

Tabs is top of that list at 66.2% for his 98 goals.

Mikey (65.8%) (269 gl) and Troy Simmonds (65.6) (59gl) and are 2nd & 3rd.

Notable mentions are:

Pav (61.7%) (700gl) 13th
Mayney (64.5%) (196gl) 4th
The Wiz (63.8%) (224gl) 7th
Modra & Sandy (64.1%) (148 & 98 gl respectively) (5th& 6th)
Clive (56.9%) 178gl) 26th.
Cam (58.9%) (63gl) 20th

Both Fyfe & Hilly go better than Mundy at 58.6% & 56% respectively.


Think I'd still rather have Dave lining up..

I should have added the note...that this is not 'set shots for goal' ... but all shots on goal. Hope thats's understood. !

Sort off surprising any running midfielder struggles to be much better than 50 :50. But understandable when you consider weary legs, i guess. ?
Then again some of the 'stand alone forwards' are a bit ordinary (for instance Croad was ranked about 37th from memory...) ..but then you gotta consider the influence of the RoLy era on blokes like Cam.
