Before this season Cameron has averaged 50 goals a season over 8 years. Do you reckon Tabs will ever kick 50 goals in a single season?

Ok, let me put it another way. Cameron, for his entire 166 game career, has averaged 2.5 goals per game.

Tabs in 12 games this year - which have been the best of his career - has averaged 1.9 goals a game. Bump it up 20% for game time, and it’s still around 2.3 goals per game.

If he does manage to score 50-60 goals in a season he will have achieved one average Jeremy Cameron year and he should feel pretty chuffed about it. If he does it every season from now until he is 35, he will have equalled Jeremy Cameron.

Let me put it another, another way.

Cameron never played at centre half back. Cameron played in a forward line, something that has been somewhat scarce at Freo for most of Tabs career.

Cameron plays in a team that was given more first round draft picks than any other startup club. Since their inception they have used 35 first round draft picks on players. In that same period, Freo used 12 first round draft picks and we have 7 still on our books. The other five were either delisted (Simpson after 2 games) or moved to other teams.

You are simply not comparing apples with apples. I dare say Cameron's stats would be somewhat poorer had he played in a side that had below average skills because their coach didn't value them, played in a side where the midfield lost far more than they won or played in a side where he had to sprint back to the forward 50 to try and create a contest where the only player forward of the centreline was Ballantyne trying to outmark 2 tall defenders.

A little context goes a long way.......and hypen was absolutely correct.
