And it’s diffusing out to the close-in contests and the quick hands as if there are are multiple Mundys out there.

There’s a confidence that pressure isn’t just manic and random, but controlled and supported with more structure than simply statistical probability that more inside 50s = probably more scoring chances, no matter how you achieve them.

I really like what is being built and that it is being built with the blocks that Ross Lyon dismissed as noise and not only linchpinned by star players.

Not only that, Mush, but an admission from the coach, when things go wrong, not only that things were not done to the plan, but what was not done to plan. The change from philosphical plattitudes and diversionary statements is profound. This is much more honest and must make a difference to the players attitudes and thought processes.

He is so benefiting from the jedi force field that is David Mundy.

I'm not sure of the collective noun for multiple Mundys but I do know that opposition coaches refer to his impact on their players as Mundification.

Multiple times during last night's game, Clarkson screamed down the phone, "Get him off, he's been Mundified."

I'm rapt with Serong. A couple of his passes were works of genius. I remember watching Essendon play during Hird's best years, and when he got the ball, the rest of the team were electrified. They just sprinted because they knew that a top quality pass was coming. Serong could be like that - the quarterback.

Serong is going to be that good that Young, Ryan, Watson, Wilson, Cox, Hughes and Pearce are going to have to drift into the forward line just to get a kick.

I'm quietly impressed by Darcy imposing himself on the game too, by the way. Marks, kicks, shepherds, ground contests, moving to space and dragging opposition away from other spaces. And, again, a controlled physical presence that's no longer a newfoundland puppy bumbling into things.
