2006 we got thumped against geelong at home, went to sydney and improved but still lost, then won 9 in a row to prob play our best footy ever.
We have Hawks, Carl, Syd, GWS (all at home) with WB, North, Melb & Rich to come. Hardly a daunting fixture.
Who knows how many of these will be at home but a least the next 4 are.
Young boys confidence must be skyrocketing and we have sonny, hoges, hilly & sturt coming back in imminently.
I can feel it - anybody else feel it??
Maybe we can do a baby bombers with a new smaller faster backline being hailed as the way forward for the future..

I’m with Demo1, only the Richmond game looks like it may be out of our reach on present form, all the rest look very winnable to me, especially if we start to get our confidence in the game plan going.

Demo1, when you have a lot of injuries, I think it wears down the players who have to turn up each week and carry the team. For example, Luke Ryan is shouldering way too much burden playing as a key defender and I’m not sure it’s sustainable.

I think we’ll continue to see some good signs for the middle part of the season, but if we don’t start getting players back we might fall off a pretty steep cliff right at the end of the year.

I think JLo is getting the balance pretty right between blooding young players and checking out some of the fringe players. I think we’ll see a few of the senior guys go for early surgeries by the end of the season.

If we get a new fitness guy over the break I think we’ll jump out of the blocks next season. Our best team should be good enough to play finals next year.

It’s more like 2009 than 2006.
