I don't know why everyone is carrying on about Mondays game. It was wet weather footy, played by a side which does not get those conditions at training week in week out, against a side who does. When East Coast teams come to Perth in March/April or at the end of the season, excuses are made (by some pundits) with regularity about how those teams find it difficult to cope with the hot conditions in Perth. The same applies in reverse.

And just like the days at the WACA, you knew that we weren't a great side, but sometimes the magic would happen and we'd get a win.

The biggest difference between now and then is that when I watch the boys out there now I don't see 22 players giving their all. I know I bang on about skills, but I'd be just as happy to see a bunch of guys ready to bleed purple run amok and create mayhem on the field.*

I'm in Raglan's camp. I don't really understand the fuss about the loss last week in horrible conditions with a side full of kids and injuries. Shortened quarters make the stats look worse than they are but I really enjoyed watching Serong, Brayshaw and Cerra getting their hands dirty and fighting it out despite being much smaller than their opponents.

The conditions shouldn't be that bad tomorrow and we're a good chance at having some more kids in the side giving it a go and trying to learn how to make it in the big leagues. Wins and losses make little difference to anything other than our draft pick this year, enjoy the ride and the revolution from RL footy. This season is about learning.
