I don’t get the conspiracy theory’s around Blakey.
We have all seen that JLo’s game plan is based on precision 30m kicks to leading team mates. If you can’t hit those passes under little pressure at training at least 90% of the time you probably aren’t going to be selected.
It’s how we have gone from 18th to 1st in kicking efficiency.
Blakey will get his chance when he gets his short passes sorted out. This is consistent with the comments someone made about Carr saying his disposal wasn’t up to scratch.
I for one have had enough of watching Freo win all the supposed important KPIs (contested positions, inside 50s, clearances) and still lose by 50 points because we turn the ball over with poor disposal.
Clearly they have drawn a line in the sand and said “if the want to play in this Freo team you have to execute at this level”

Good to see the AFL article on the ins and outs nice and balanced.
On Blakely I think he adds ball winning ability an area we are lacking atm.
I like that Longmuir is willing to explain why he’s not selecting a player.
Last week he explained that McCarthy needed to work on the contested side of his footy.
If we are willing to accept his reasons for Blakely then we should accept his reasons for McCarthy.
I find it a bit harder for Blakely because I disagree with them. Others probably find it harder to accept McCarthy.
Is it time to give up on Hill?
I love him and yearn for what was but even if we get him right he holds out a Duman, Young, Aish, Watson etc. He won’t be there when we climb the ladder so are we better exposing more players?

Freo $2.55 seems way over the odds. We beat these clowns last year and they are considerably weaker.

OK perhaps so are we but you can see things are coming together. Tabs & Lobb vs Taylor & Blicsavs is a winner if our guys can finally kick straight. Frederick is going to run riot.

I'd rotate Mundy, Ryan, Hughes on Dangerfield. The rest of their shitty side I don't rate. Walters has Parfitt covered and Brayshaw can limit Guthrie.

If they can prevent that concentration lapse that lets the opposition kick 4 goals in a row, Freo will win by 20+. I can see us finishing all over the top of them.

Can't see why they just didn't chuck Liam in and let him 'go for it' , at home, under lights, and on the big stage. Even if he only played half a game....he'd do a damn sight more crumbing than Brandon.
