He's a left footer, but his form and ball drop looks like he's a right footer giving it a bash on his left - especially his set shots.

It's a form v effectiveness Moneyball thing. He might actually be a good kick, but every time a kick hits its target it looks like a fluke.

A lot of pundits thought that every time a Danyle Pearce kick hit a target it was fluke, so this could be a Freo phenomenon. I myself thought that every time Clive was a target hit, it was a fluke. We all see the same thing differently.

Point taken, Shane, I was referring to the fact that Clive and the ball arrived at the same point of the footy oval at the same time, with no discernable reason for that happening on many, many occasions in Clives career. The number of times that anyone seemed to have control over Clive and the ball meeting was miniscule.

I get so nostalgic whenever Clive’s name is mentioned. Those were the days when I enjoyed going to the footy regardless of the outcome. Those were the days when we were a grass roots Freo footy team that gave a hoot about its members and played entertaining (and chaotic) footy at the same time.
