Well Leed,using your theory,20min qtr's Plus time on will generate many more goals thus many more commercials,so more long breaks between goals.
I only saw the last half tonight when you get a longer camera shot and there is much congestion,20 players within 20 metres and usually you could draw a circle around them,except for the players that are fighting for possession ,everyone else is just standing around waiting for the ball to come out.
Some players are actually having a chat to each other,weird!
Tonight's game was a lot faster being a final,i reckon many players like stoppages as they get sometimes a minute just watching, and the players closer to goal are getting even longer rests .
This congestion could be a conspiracy to waste even more time .
