Can someone help me out with some info about the Qld hubs please:

I gather we are allowed to take a "player group" of 25 to Queensland. I assume that's for this first 4-game bracket of games. What happens if a player is injured? Can we fly in a replacement?

Do the same restrictions apply for the local Queensland teams, and the teams from Victoria and NSW who are "at home". Is there any idea how that will be managed?

Will Qld, NSW and Vic clubs be able to train with their whole playing group even though only 25 are nominated as the "playing group" (if that's the case), or will those 25 be "quarantined" from the rest of the players?

Be very grateful for the answers or a link to somewhere I can find these things out.

I think the main issue is with returning to Perth through a closed border. So I reckon they could just fly them over as required.

I'm pretty sure the whole squad is going over, all 44 players (or however many are fit and wanting to go).

There's a limit of 25 support staff who can have direct contact with players but I believe we've asked if more than 25 staff can have player contact.

Agree bizkit. Eagles requested more than 25 support staff as some players remaining here need support staff. Freo and Port have now requested same. Not sure if that means we aren’t taking all our players.

The one thing I'm pretty sure of is the 25-player limit (I think but am not sure it's the same number of support staff). It's bloody hard to find concrete information about it on-line!

Freo site says we’re taking all 47 players and at least 25 support staff, up to 30 if we’re allowed to by the AwFL, what the AFL.com article doesn’t say about the 25 support staff limit, Is that teams can rotate staff in and out of that list, a luxury we won’t have, unless when rotated out of the 25 they just go and hang out in brisvegas until they are required to rotate back in, they clearly can’t go home to WA as they’d need to quarantine for 14 days. That’s why we’ve asked it be increased to 30 staff.

So The West on Tuesday has a story on which players won’t make the “cut” to be in the 35 player squad the AFL is allowing Freo to take to the Gold Coast. Now that’s the West, and it seems an absurdly low number, so who knows if it’s right or wrong. Just can’t seem to find out anywhere definitively what rules apply to teams during this lockdown period.

From the AFL site in regards to squad numbers - "Coach Adam Simpson said on Friday the Eagles were hoping to take their entire squad for the four weeks of scheduled games in Queensland before the need to reassess."

I'd think it's every player who is available and wants to go over. Those not in the first 22 will be needed for scratch matches and training simulation.

Zorro, what I find interesting is that "Duff & Quarters" did not discuss the fairness of the AwFL's rules on player availability, and how many players can be used by interstate teams.
