This segues me to a story from a south fremantle runner in the late 70's whose name sadly escapes me but I'm pretty sure he was actually a well known man of the cloth, whom I should remember. The story is along the lines of the great Ray Bauskis not going hard enough in a contest or something similar, and Mal Brown telling the runner something along the lines of "..Tell Bauskis to f@#$%^ well @#$%^ get @#$%&* hard or I'll @#$^& well @##%^ him..." As our erstwhile runner ran out to Ray, he thought "...well I can't really tell him that", so when he got to Ray, he said "Mal says keep it up, you're doing a great job!", to which Ray visibly brightened, and said "Does he?", and promptly turned around and scored the next goal. Brownie then told the returning runner, "See, that's what he needed!"
