I must say, it's really great that the members of the Fremantle Football Club are putting their hands in their pockets to subsidise a struggling Lake Grace farming and trucking company in this time of crisis by paying for one of their employees.

If the AFL were serious about saving clubs, they would have embarked on 80% salary cuts, not 50%. I wonder how many other players are working on their side gig while they're not able to play footy.

I previously read an article where he does 13 hr days when working on the trucks which he even does during the bye (pretty hard yakka in my eyes) so think he can have a break in between. Agree it wasn’t a good look but lots of surfers are out there.

PS! After seeing/hearing the feel good stories of eastern states players working for families or businesses and that more should be doing so, Had been waiting for ‘the West’ to run a feel good story on Fyfe as knew he was down south - haha should have known better but then the silly boy did give them the story!

No doubt tomorrow we’ll get a feel good story on Nicnat saving the world

Geez, someone needs to get their story straight. Early in the article Fyfe is cleared because he went for a surf while waiting for his truck to be loaded then at the end we hear that “... he detoured after picking up lime in Margaret River.”

That aside, not a biggie but as Shane said, it’s not a good look!

The worst part of the Worst's coverage was the way they sprung the "Hey, we've got pics of naughty Nat Fyfe going to the beach at Margaret River" question on the premier and the commish; they clearly had no idea of the circumstances (and I bet the journo didn't provide them).

McGowan and Dawson inevitably fell into the trap that had been set for them and gave responses that erroneously put Fyfe in a bad light. Those blokes have more than enough on their plate without being made pawns in the West's cynical little name/shame/game.
