And therein lies the sheer arrogance of the AFL. They should not have negotiated the level of player pay cuts with the AFLPA before taking all reasonable measures to shore up the revenue streams that supports these payments, including the sale of club memberships.

I’m happy that Dale is communicating regularly with members and supporters.

They haven’t got much hope of charitable donations when people who can choose to not pay an invoice or cancel a periodic payment but are whinging about getting a message which in essence is they are doing their best in difficult circumstances and wishing everyone the best in difficult circumstances.

If they don’t try to maximise retaining 2020 membership money there may be no Freo club to roll over 2020 memberships to.

If it came down to it the AFL would choose to retain the WC over Freo.
