They've already won 7 games out of 7 Drubbing! They've beaten all comers on their merits and the only BS so far was the player votes of 12 other also ran clubs when they insisted that Fremantle and North Melbourne shouldn't play off for the Premiership on Saturday. I t was the common sense decision and they allowed pride and pettiness to influence their vote which resulted in this option being voted down by the majority of players in the AFLP vote.
A shared premiership between Freo and North Melbourne is probably the only fair conclusion to this season and not the snub and dismissal by Gill in his address yesterday.

Saying it would be an insult to the players to hand them the premiership after going the season unbeaten is an insult in itself. It's not like they only played a game or two, the season was almost done and they were incredibly dominant..

They worked their asses off not just during the season but in the lead up to get to where they were and it was all for nothing according to the AWFL. Just watch Antonio's interview below and you can see they wanted the premiership desperately and still believe they should get it.

Everything points towards them being the best side In the competition and having earned a home finals series, there's no way they would have been beaten at Freo Oval. Give them the cup they deserve.

And today it continues with only 2 of our girls, Sabreena Duffy and Kiara Bowers, named in team of the year on AFL site. No Evie Gooch or Gemma Houghton. I find the continued lack of recognition for our girls nothig short of disgusting and a very poor reflection on the AFL.

AFLW All Australian Team announced tonight and only Gemma Houghton and Kiara Bowers get a guernsey. What a disgrace. The insult to our team is an ongoing disgrace and hopefully it spurs them on to a Premiership next year after being robbed by a dodgy and cynical AFLPA vote to not have North Melbourne and Fremantle play off for the Premiership.

It would have been handy if the All-Australian selectors had actually watched the Freo games - surely Sabreena Duffy should have got in the side.

Carlton, Melb and Nth Melb all have more players in the AA side than the team that went through the season undefeated, and were poised to win a home Prelim and be in the GF.

(I think) the AFLW is showing itself to be just as Melbourne establishment as the mens. Freo would have another great win, but the AFLW site was always focused on the teams that really matter - Carlton, Pies, Melb, Nth, Rich, St K etc.

A big part of the problem is when the AFLPA starts voting on national issues and the majority of votes come from Victoria which is where the majority of players are based in both the AFL and the AFLW. This is why, when asked if Fremantle and North Melbourne should play off in the Grand Final the majority said no and opted for an extended final series which was obviously not going to be completed.
It's also why on the subject of AFL hubs to be set up to complete this season the majority of players based in Melbourne will vote for all 18 teams to play in Melbourne and explains Dangerfield's about face on the subject. I'm not usually one to agree with Malthouse but if this goes ahead it sets the AFL as a national competition by years as it focuses solely on giving Melbourne clubs an advantage over all interstate clubs.
