Fremantle forward Jesse Hogan is taking leave away from the club so he can deal with mental health challenges.

“Jesse needs time away from the club so he can manage mental health challenges that he is dealing with and focus on his general wellbeing,” general manager of football Peter Bell said.

“We believe it is the most appropriate course of action and, more importantly, it is what is best for Jesse’s long-term health and wellbeing.

“We will continue to provide all the necessary and ongoing care and support Jessie requires, as we would do for any of our players.”

The club requests that Jesse and his family’s privacy is respected at this time.

The club will provide an update on Jesse’s health and wellbeing in due course.

There will be no further comment from the club at this stage.

Very much hope for your sake first and then for the club and us supporters that you get the help you need and we see you back as soon as you're ready.
You're unlikely to read this but anyway, you made my grandson's day a couple of weeks ago when he and I were having a kick to kick on the sidelines at training. You were running laps and took the time to call for the ball and had a quick kick with him.
