I'm ok with that.

I'm not ok with delayed telecasts - you have to go into total digital silence, avoid public spaces, turn off the radio and you end up missing all the other games going that day because of it. It's like being sentenced to an isolation cell at San Quintin - and then, more often than not, you end up watching a complete pantsing three hours after it's done that makes you want to commit a major felony to avoid facing those gloating Channel Egirls sports segment on the evening news and those arseclowns waiting at the Xerox machine for you on Monday morning.

Flying under the radar is fine by me, free to air delayed telecasts are going to turn me into a sociopath.

I think the world... which includes Victoria, will remember Fremantle fondly, but that was in the past with the America's Cup way back when. But then there was a glimmer of hope in 2013-2015 when Fremantle registered again in Vic memory, only to have faded back into and almost evaporated long term memory.

But now it's 2020 and time to turn the tables, only the "in" crowd in Vic know what's coming. So stay tuned, I say... but unfortunately that may not include free to air tv just yet... actually, all the die hards have other ways to stay tuned in and avoid multiple commercials everytime a goal is kicked... I hate that. But anyway, 2020 and finally the President is onboard. Go JLO, Belly's on your side.

After some discussion with other supporters this week, the rating of fixturing like so many AFL topics seems very subjective.
On the one hand if you rate difficulty of opposition (from previous season's ranking), we have done exceptionally well, but from a promotional , marketing, and fan friendly piont of view, we have done very poorly.
Certainly from a non Victorian club perspective I think the 2 issues are intrinsically linked and are at opposite ends of the spectrum ie. success vs. the lack of.
We are never going to get a fixture that will suit us all,- And when I refer to "Us All " I just mean our fan base.

For me, Im another that doesnt like sunday home games, but I think weve done better than this year.....
We play 5 sat games plus the Anzac Sunday night, which I think is a great idea for this season alone, as WA is the only state to get the pub hol mon so it's a Marquee exposure standalone game against fairly big Vic club. And It will feel like a Sat night game to me so its great...........Ive thought for years we should push AFL to market same fixture for sunday night on WA day weekend for same reason.......and before the slime do it.
Then there's the rnd 23 against Tiges which is yet to be called. So maybe 7 all up with abitta luck with no working weekday the following day.!!!

Cant wait!
Go Freo!!!

You'd have to offer an explanation on why you've decided that's a thing now.

Well, it goes against the grain of the AFL's fair and equitable fixturing, doesn't it.

So your premise is that there is an advantage to the first derby being a home game over the second derby.

It must be a reasonable effort by the AFL if that's all you've got.

Naah, but without going back through the years, I was under the assumption that the home game alternated each year.

(and I'm getting bloody bored now that Belly & JL have taken over.)

In the Carr brother days the second game was WAY better - Josh is with us again, so righteo the Derby is back.

Totally agree IMHO. I reckon we escaped with a good fixture from my perspective. Possibly 7 games with no work the next day is a big plus!
