I said it at the time and look what happened - they debuted that Dixon kid on the last game and then Sibosado'd him. Delisted, just like Casey - he kicked one but (correct me if I'm wrong) Casey kicked a pair of goals.

That strategy is known in footy as the Sibosado treatment.

TLDR: the West aussies all support the slime except for Jackson who is a Freo supporter because his family couldn’t get slime memberships because they’ve were always sold out, and who’s favourite players is NoStat. Also Ash, Connolly’s nephew, is a Geelong supporter.

Kinda makes me hope they draft some skinny Victorian kids.

I reckon the article is more on the money in regards to kids following players more so than teams these days. Certainly through the Ross Lyon years, being able to watch great players at other clubs has helped maintain my love for the game.

Having players like Fyfe and Sonny helps with those and hopefully we can draft a few more who inspire that response.

I do like Chad Warner as a late pick, fantastic inside mid that is underrated in the east.
