We Now we know where stand on the draft....subject to draft pick trading

Can we get all of the following to the club?

- Luke Jackson
- Liam Henry
- Deven Robertson
- Elijah Taylor

Having a core group plus the recent draftees, we will have a solid foundation for the next 10 yrs

Why does Hagdorn still believe GWS will go for Jackson, they need the pick for Tom Green

The swans are definitely going to bid on Tom Green.. We don’t really need another Ruckman anyway.. Do you reckon we pick him up and play Hodor down at Peel until he asks for a trade next year.. Deven Robertson at 7 I’m thinking is a pretty safe pick and then just see what is available.. Doesn’t have to be from WA if it doesn’t work out that way.. I reckon if we have Robertson and Henry (2 from WA) and maybe a Lachie Ash or Dylan Stephens that could be a good outcome

If Swans bid on Green then that pretty much blows GWS out of the draft until pick 40, which would be the first time they only had 1 pick below 30 since inception

Can't see any of Gold Coast, Swans, Crows trading to allow GWS up the order.

But as per another post on what the Swans and Eagles did last year I can see GWS potentially lining up Port Adelaide or some other club to do a swap like pick 5 for Ports 18 and 29 and a future second which would net then Greene and then trade again for Ports pick 12 and future second giving Port a future first

Port get 5 and future first, GWS get Greene and pick 12

I think GWS get their hands on pick 3. They will make a deal Melbourne can’t refuse so that they end up with 2 top 5 picks. Luke Jackson to go to GWS at pick 3.

I agree. I think GWS will do anything to get their hands on an up and coming ruck. Not sure if he is a necessity for Freo, but would be nice.

NPK
Jackson not worth the stress. If GWS really want him they will find a way to get him. We need to prioritize getting a core versatile midfield group that will grow together to ensure we dominate the clearances (ruckman or not). Whilst Jackson would be a cherry he is not the priority for our club. Plus good midfield talent usually goes with higher trade value than a ruckman i.e Brad Hill.
It was reported Geelong offered only a third round pick for Sean Darcy which Freo thankfully declined!

If thats the cade NPK, I hope we're telling that to Hodor before every Cats match... Hopefully it putsany thoughts of goi g home to rest, and rather hopefully, he'd go out the and 'donk' a few of them.

What about Sharp??...is he in anyones considerations???

A lot of mock drafts and the like will come out now the trade period has ended and we can make accurate assessments of what clubs are likely to do at their picks.

A lot of them are going to have us taking Jackson at 7, Robertson at 10 and matching a Henry bid there after which I think most supporters would be happy with. I'd prefer us to have an additional pick or two in the 20's to snap up some more talent but so be it. I'd probably be a bit more open with my top selections and have others in contention but if we take those 3, that's a win for the club.

I can't see GWS being able to tempt pick 3 off Melbourne in an effort to get ahead of another clubs bid on Green (and thus grab Jackson). It's very unlikely anyone else will be interested in Robertson before us (and probably for a few picks after). he's very much a Tom Mitchell type midfielder who gathers a lot of touches but doesn't do as much with them. A few question marks on his kicking but everything else seems really good. Henry is just a gun and i'd take him top 5.

As for Sharp, he could go in the late teens but it will depend on what clubs want. He's looked like a very outside midfielder for a while now but performed strongly for the East Freo league side which might have allayed some of those fears. I've been a fan of his despite his lack of a contested game but he won't be around our pick unless there's some miracle where Henry slides past 22.

There's no way that offer was made for Darcy. Where ever you heard that, they were spinning some pretty poor lies.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Jackson has been training with us so they must be pretty keen on him.

Stop. Breathe.

GWS (as discussed) trading up makes sense. If they have a live pick before Green gets called. Bingo essentially 2 top 5ish picks for them.

Us trading up for Jackson makes WAAAY less sense. If a club had walked in to trade period last week and said we’ve got pick 7 and 10 what players are on offer? That is more than what Dangerfield went for! Is Jackson really worth 2 first rounders?

Do. Not. Listen. To. WA. Media. (And take them seriously).

Heard Haggers prattling on about us missing Grundy (and taking Simpon) ... Grundy went pick 18. Go talk to Melbs Jimmy Toumpas went #4!

That year rookie draft:
Lloyd (SYD)
Rampe
Tabener
Ceglar

Back the list team, take the picks, pray a little Liam Henry not called until after our live pick 10. Crack open the Moët if he is called after 22.

Playing the conspiracy card....do you think Belly/Freo didn't drive a hard bargin with Langdon not to piss off Melbourne.

Belly: Here is Ed Langdon, for a great deal but we need a favour

Melb team: Whats the favour, no sexual ones...

Belly: Only the mob up the road can provide the sexual ones....seriously....keep your pick 3 and pick Tom Green

Melb team: ok

Biz your man Brodie Kemp might be there at 10. Would you be happy with Deven Robertson, Brodie Kemp and Liam Henry?

I'd pick Kemp ahead of both of them to be honest. I see far more potential in him as a star of the competition.

I have questions over Jackson's ability to transfer to a leading ruckman given he'll be a little undersized but I think he'll still be a great forward/ruck. Pick 7 is a stretch for mine and I'd go with other players there.

Robertson is also a stretch given his kicking limitations and there are some other mids around that I'd get first.

Having said that, I'd be fine with us drafting those two West Aussies. There are just others I think will be better players at AFL level.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
