Brendan Goddard has suggested that we trade Brad Hill to St Kilda, they give pick 6 to Geelong and we give pick 7 to Geelong. How does that add up to a good deal ? We lose a pick 7 plus a quality player that doesn't want to be with us and gain another quality player that doesn't want to be with us. And it is my birthday so be nice.

This is going down the track of previous seasons where the debate of which players are worth 2 first round picks. Dylan Shiel was pushed as worthy but all through trade week we were continually told by the wise men in the east, except from memory Nick dal Santo, that Lachie Neale wasn't. History has shown us this year that Lachie was the man.
Now we are being told that Tim Kelly is worth 2 first rounders and 3 inside pick 30 while 3 time premiership player and arguably best winger in the comp Brad Hill is only worth 1 first rounder. Well, whilst it would be nice to have Tim Kelly and Liam Henry running up and down the wings next season we need to let Geelong know that this ain't gonna happen and good luck getting that out of the Weagles as well.

TK is not worth B Hill and a first rounder. As I see it, B Hill’s currency is currently as high as Kelly’s. Hill may not be quite in the same league as Kelly on the ground (not far off it though) but he still has two years remaining on his contract, so if a suitable deal isn’t done he remains a Docker. If a suitable trade isn’t done for Kelly he can go into the draft,he may not go to a club of his choice, but he is lost to Geelong for nothing (hence why I think they will settle for 1 Top 10 pick and move on).

Saints: In Hill out Stevens
Geebung: In Stevens out Kelly

Stevens may be the oldest (29) but Kelly (25) is the only one out of contract so Geelong do risk losing him for nothing.

You'd think Goddard, being a country boy, would have heard the phrase "selling the farm" before. Thought seeing he's from a the coal power station town of Traralgon he probably hasn't and that's what he's proposing. Personally I'd prefer to go all out in the draft than swap half of what he's suggested for Kelly.
