Yep...not sure if GWS is following RoLys ways, but I do know the Tigers aren't.

How could RoLy ever think that his alleged gameplan could be effective on The Big Day.??

The Tigers are playing free flowing, high pressure, high skill football, and, using a 'twin towers' forward structure to perfection.

And it is an absolute pleasure to watch the quality of football.

Its a big difference to RoLyball, and I hope we never see the likes of it again.

There’s a plethora of good footballers, just not much progressive thinking on team play, strategy and hardness.

Tigers too good, should have been 3 in a row. They're clearly the best team over last 3 years by a long way. But a memo those making next year's fixture, they should not, under any circumstances, be allowed to play their last 8 games of home and away season at their home ground..

GWS panicked before the game began. Playing two high profile guys who showed that they were well below minimum fitness was a poor decision. It’s not the sole reason they lost but it didn’t help.

Same old...same old.. not until teams outside Victoria who earn a home grand get to play that grand final in their home state will the afl competition be fair and equitable. The Richmonds,the Collingwoods et al have a HUGE advantage hardly ever having to get on a plane. It's unjust and it ain't gonna change. Not for the next 40 years or so...whatever the agreement with is.
Interstate teams have to be so much better than the Vic teams to win it. And I cant see that happening. Richmond will dominate the next few years. Then maybe Collingwood?.. Hawthorn?. The Brisbane dominance in the early 2000s was an anomaly.

Yes of course Richmond would have had the home final. Its not about that. Its about the competition favouring the Victorian teams..blah..blah..blah. The fact there are 10 of them v 8 interstate means they stay at home a LOT during the home and away. They are fresher at the end of the season without so much air travel and that is a huge advantage.That's not disputable. It means the interstate teams have to be SO much better than them. And with coaches,players,club heirachies and structures etc all being relatively of fairly equal quality give or take a few( perhaps being more equal now than they have ever been in the past) it means this advantage becomes more profound.
Just to even up the competition a tad, if an interstate team qualifies for a home grand final the afl should allow them to host it in their home state. It ain't gonna happen. I know.
Off on a bit of a rant here but this seriously has to be part of the discussion in the coming years.

Richmond had a slow start to the season. They lost Rance in Round 1 and then got thumped by both Collingwood and GWS by 40+ points.

They also got smacked by Nth Melb, Geelong and Adelaide in consecutive games before winning their last 9 H&A games.

They managed to finish 4th on the back of WCE losing in the last round, otherwise they would have finished 5th. Having a HGA was an advantage but not the only reason they finished top 4.

They then went to Brisbane and won by 47 points. Winning the Qualifying Final, getting a week off and playing the Preliminary Final on your home ground is the key to making the Grand Final.
