Too right. It's St Kilda who are trying to court Hill. Not us trying to pimp him out.

Martin Pike played on the wing in Brisbane's three peats Mont.

Sometimes you're lucky to be part of a great team with a great coach, sometimes you're dead unlucky to spend your career at a dud side.

David Hale, Ben Stratton, Brian Lake all played in Hawthorn's last three premierships. Does that make them among the great players and better than others that missed playing at Hawthorn? In fact Spangher played in two of them ffs.

Never denied that Hill isn't very good, just that Kelly is more valuable to a side. He basically does everything that Hill can, but can also play inside, is a better kick and mark and hits the scoreboard more often.

Hill would have it over Kelly in the amount of run and carry he can bring to a game though.

The Cats don't have salary space - they were paying Tim peanuts, now they gotta pay four draftees peanuts.

Corp, you can’t use Pike as your example, he’s quadruple premiership player (also winning a flag with Norfs in 1999)

If reports are correct that the saints had pick 6 and a future second round pick on the table and Bell turned it down, I don’t see how any trade will now get done.
Think Bell has outsmarted himself here and we’ll end up keeping Hill.

Brad Hill isn’t worth as much as Kelly, but you can’t walk to the table after offering 900k over 6, and offer unders.
If Papley is worth pick 9, and Howard a first rounder, Hill is worth more than 6 and a future second. All of the commentary I’m hearing, is that next years draft picks don’t hold much value.
As far as I’m concerned it will be good to see Hill in purple next year.
Martin Pike was a very good player.

Maybe that was Bells plan all along, put a large price own Hills head, causing clubs to baulk at the asking price and keep Hill for a further 2 years.

Hill would be worth every bit as much as Kelly, but not to the eagles. They are different types of players, and are worth different amounts to clubs with different requirements. Given we lose Langdon, Hill is worth more to us than Kelly.

They now have 12 & 18. This probably helps us to get the WA kids we want. Initially I assumed Saints wouldn’t trade these to us, but if they were willing to part with 6, why not 12 & 18.
Just listening to yesterdays trade radio. I like the idea of introducing Hill to Langdon negotiation with Melbourne. They are looking for outside speed, and have pick, 3 and a Brayshaw. They had a very disappointing year this year with some mitigating factors. The addition of two very quick wingers really could make a difference to them.
This could help pad out Langdon for us, therefore justifying taking a little less for Hill.

The annoying part about the reporting of this is that Belly is being made out to be the bad guy for asking for next year first rounder as part of the deal for Bradley but Saints want to keep this to help get Ben King out of Gold Coast next year. Now it depends what you see as reasonable here as a lot of people believe it is wrong for young talent to be poached out of clubs, particularly Gold Coast after only 2 years as would be the case with King but now because it is Saints it's OK because they're screwing Freo in the process. Bell's request threatens this predatory act by the Saints and is no more than what the Weagles would be asking if it were them in our position. I think some in the media are still seething over our Weller for pick 2 deal with Suns and Belly's hard bargaining that got us the trade targets we got last year and see this as payback. I think Belly should keep at it and now call Saints bluff by just saying No Deal on Hill.
Geelong now trying to trade into top 10, I think they want Luke Jackson, who could solve their ruck problems long term.

Someone called in with a trade that makes sense.
Bulldogs give up 13 for Bruce and 18.
We receive 12 & 13.
This sounds closer to a deal that keeps all parties happy.
Dal Santos response was this still didn’t get the Saints, Howard.
When did it become our responsibility to make sure the Saints fulfill on their promises?

That's why we lost Pick 6 DBTS. The Saints are now the Melbourne media's darlings with them becoming a destination club and they are cheering them on from the sidelines, emboldening them to screw us over like they did when they offloaded pick 6.
Your trade suggestion may help us keep Liam Henry but we may still lose Luke Jackson if Geelong get high enough in top 10 to pick him up.
