Nah, we got screwed. I threw some relevant stats up earlier in the week but Langdon averages 2 clangers per game compared to B Hill's 3, has the same number of possessions each game (25) and is 2yrs younger. We should absolutely have received more.
Moving up 4 spots in the draft doesn't mean much unless you're certain there's someone a couple picks ahead who will take the player you're after and I can't see that being the case with the teams there. To gamble on the second rd pick next year is one thing I don't really agree with but giving up our second this year seems dumb. if it were our 3rd this year then I'd probably say this trade was reasonably even. As it is, Melbourne screwed us.
Next year's draft isn't weak, it's probably about par for the course. The problem is all the talent seems to be tied to clubs already so there's few good kids that are 'live'. We've got Western and Walker who likely go early and we'll need points for and then there's a few other great WA kids who could push high like Grainger-Barras. I don't see Melbourne staying down the bottom for too long though so a pick closer to 30 is likely which is far from Langdon's worth.
