TOPIC: Fyfe's Brownlows

Which do you think is better, winning it in 2015 when the team was going gangbusters and there were good players everywhere or winning it in 2019 where he had to win it carrying the rest of the team and being the best player on the ground every week in a losing side?

This one would be better. Walters is going to take a few votes off him but I think Fyfe will be favourite, probably over Neale.

Brad Hardie knows a bloke who will buy them off him.

Incredible performance this season. He's a bloody marvel but I still don't think captaincy suits him somehow. Look how Smith is going now he's not Test captain. The Fyfester could get even better too.

I have him 30 votes with two games to go. He's an amazing footballer. And he has been enormous for us this year.

He'll win it by a street and by the time he retires he'll have three of them, a Norm Smith and a premiership medal.

Maybe WA's all time greatest player.

You don't seem to have compared how Smith is going now that he's not Test captain with how Smith was going when he was Test captain. I'm not sure you've compared how Fyfe is going now that he's captain with how he went when he wasn't captain either.

I remember his interview with Gerard Whateley after his 2015 win where he declared from now on it was ‘premierships or bust’. I guess he was half right.

I ‘you beauted’ your post Hypen and then remembered you have that uncanny power of making the opposite of what you say happen...

Can't compare Fyfe with Smith, I mean, I'm sure we would notice the change in his running style if he was stuffing the old 40 grit down his jocks.

Aint no room for pockets in a pair of footy shorts, is there.

I backed him at $7 at the start of the season. Now watch him go and belt some Essendon clown and hand the medal to Lachie.

I backed Lachie Neale at $41 at the start of the season so I'll be taunting Fyfe over the fence to hit some Essendon clown.

I think Shanes JSF cancels out Hypen's Curse, so Fyfe & Lachie are back where they started, it's a fair contest again.

Fyfe's has had a brilliant season. But the team has lost more than it's won - plus Mikey would've taken top votes in two or three games, Mundy in at least one and Fyfe missed the away Derby in Rnd 4 and the Sydney game in Rnd 18. His stats this year are better than 2015, in fact they are career best in everything except goals/scoring. But I cant see him winning the Brownlow (because of those points above).

At the start of the year I backed Patrick Cripps - though I reckon the Bont will surge past him with late season form. Or Neale - everyone's favourite (apparently).

In the previous two years I've picked the eventual Brownlow medalist in the preseason - Dusty and Mitchell - if Cripps takes it that'll be three years in a row. Sorry Davo, but I reckon your bet will go somewhere else.
