He has to do it until he qualifies for the pension. Is it 68 years of age these days???

I know Fyfe was sensational tonight. But Sandi’s and to a slightly lesser extent, Darcy’s ruck work, won us the game. Best I’ve seen!

It’ll be a very sad day when he gives the game away. Today was a great effort from the great man.

He was brilliant, and I thought Hodor did some pivotal things to.

Got to keep him going around, I reckon....

Magnificent to watch. He is leaving absolutely nothing in the tank in every game he plays. He is a ripper.

Yes some of those hit-outs to advantage were as pure as you get. Had a really good connection with Sonny.

You would have to think he’s worth keeping on the list for half a dozen key games next year. He’s streets ahead of Meek and Jones

IMHO if we convinced him he’d only have have to spend 50% of the game on the ground, he’d go around again, let Hodor spend 50% at FF and 50% ruck. Leave Lobb/Hogan/Tabs in the forward line.

Keep Sandi as backup ruckman, in place of Jones who tries hard but struggles at AFL level and did not get a game this year, despite our injuries to talls.
Big Sean is going to be a good ruckman for us; he will be fitter with a good pre-season. May not be too mobile as yet but I liked his game in the forward line halving the contest with those big Geelong backs.

Meek has potential and like some others just needs to be given a chance. That reminds me of Malthouse's observation on Saturday morning, when asked about Ross as a finishing coach: Lyon tends not to play the young players when they hit good form in the reserves. Examples thrown up were North and Dixon. When they were turning in good performances for Peel early in the season, Ross didn't consider them for a debut. Then they got injured. Grumpy's point being that youngsters can get demoralised when they are not rewarded, their form tails off, and it's easy to then point the finger for not 'writing their own story'. It's uncomfortable that the Top Brass are still focused on finals, must be a KPI with dire consequences I think. The win was great but the succession plan should have been in place long before being forced by injuries yesterday.

I support the view of playing the youngsters but I think it would be rough to say Lyon hasn’t this year. Which midfield players should we have dropped to give north or others a debut? Tucker and Hughes have been fairly good. Colyer has been dropped a few times and Ballantyne isn’t getting a game now he’s fit again. I suppose Dixon probably should have been given a debut given our injury problem with talls but he’s not kicking many for Peel.

Switkowski, Cerra, Brayshaw have all played a lot of games as well as Cox when fit. Duman and Nyhuis are getting a run as well. So Malthouse can go jump in a lake as far as I’m concerned.

P.S. Sandilands should play on next year

Naaah, KK.

There'd be real environmental issues if you dumped Outhouse in a lake.
