Don't you love hypocrisy - Fyfe gets plunked in the goal square and goes absent for two quarters and he's just 'recovering from a very, very serious elbow infection' ; David 300+ Mundy gets plunked in the same forgotten position for an entire game, touches the ball once in the first half, four more for the game, kicks two late goals, gets heralded as 'a true leader of men that sacrificed what he is renown for to the benefit of his teammates'; YET Cam is simply called 'a hopeless wannabe that needs to get his bloody act together' and gets jettisoned for weeks to the magoos.

Is it possible that Cam McCarthy is also a bloody legend and not just a whipping post?

What do you think of this ?
We have a lot of injured players and we have been playing them when we shouldn't .
We are going to play the top side and it doesen't look like we are going to win .
Ross thinks , If I play the young ones and put Mundy in the forward line ( cos he has been battered around for a while ) and we lose - there is my excuse , it is the inexpirienced players , Perfect !
We will still have a good chance at the next draft and I look good ( hey its not my fault ).

But what happens - We win .
Now why hasen't he played these young players that aren't injured instead of playing injured players to the point of ending there season ?
The young ones could have had a lot more expirience getting a game here and there and giving other players a chance to recover from there injuries .

Now It was all a cunning plan by Ross , To Play Mundy in the forward line , play the young ones that he has been grouming at Peel .
Ross come out smelling like roses ! A MASTER STROKE .

I for one think Ross has no idea !

The genius move was not playing Mundy forward.
The genius move was selecting Crowden, Shultz, Banfield, Swita and Matera and playing them all forward. We finally had fwd pressure. In addition the delivery into the forward line demanded either a grubber or a high ball to Darcy.

If we had the same team selection for the previous Bulldogs game, it may have been a closer game. Fyfe fwd for the entire match (instead of Mundy) is still worth a look with the right team selected.

Blicavs and Stewart took plenty of defensive marks. Geelong played a spare man in defence for most of the game. Fast breaks don't work as there is no one forward of centre to kick to.

Fyfe took 2 amazing contested marks. Mundy was MIA until the last quarter. Darcy can't kick straight. Langdon soccered a miracle goal. Most small forward goals were in play except for Crowden's.

I'm still trying to work out how they kicked 14 goals and how they're going to do it 2 weeks in a row.

Like the idea of Fyfe spending time forward, but more traditional CHF where he can stay involved. Same for Mundy last week. Their value is being a target, not 150m away.

Don't discount the value Mundy had in our forward setup, just because he was not getting the footy. Our use of the ball into the forward line looked better, and our tall and small players were in better positions for the majority of the game, this could be because we had new blood in there that have not been negatised by the game plan, but I think Mundy had quite an influence in the success of our attack. He also proved that he and Fyfe don't need to play in the middle all the time.

Fair shout RM, you could be right,I like a 'stay at home full forward', I like the structure it brings. Given the injuries Mundy probably a fair shout, but generally prefer a bigger marking target and Mundy/Fyfe closer to the ball.
