He's in charge of the football, 9 months into his two year contract the football isn't going particularly well, there is a swell of discontent outside the football club and the President, the board, the CEO, the coach and players are all under pressure. The supporters are crying out for something to tell them the club has a plan to turn it around and get back on their feet.
Keeping in mind that Peter Bell was hired with no experience in the job, or any job, and was a former board member and it was not what I would consider a best practice hire, I would expect
they would at least wait until the end of the season to have a proper review of how things went in his first year before they extended his contract.
He's not going anywhere, he's easily replaceable and it shows how deaf everyone at the club is to the outside world that they wouldn't even have the good sense to defer announcing it until the end of the year.
From where I sit, it looks more like it's Rosich sandbagging his job than making decisions in the best interest of the football club.
