Yes it can be mentally draining as a supporter..........football provides a release from some of the pressures and hardships of life. When there isn’t a release and basically a lack of entertainment it becomes more of a chore watching it similar to the routine of going to work.

This applies to supporters that invest emotionally more than others and probably view it as ‘more than a game’.

I feel more concern for the players because there are careers of seriously good footballers that may not fulfil potential.

A couple of weeks ago I was thinking of staying home for this game but I’m going mainly because I beckon our blokes will be desperate and have a decent crack to tonight. I’m not expecting a win but if I can see just a few moments of magic it is still worth it.
