It’s a product offering that I’m surprised was never introduced at Subiaco Oval.

I thought was going to be something about replacing the Kool-Aid with Pineapple Fitters.

Ross is the master at diversion. I thought Malthouse was good but this guy is in another league. It took the press a long time to torpedo Malthouse and I suspect even longer to roast Ross. I can almost hear Rozich giggling through his fruit loops.

The question has to be asked, why hasn't Ross raised this topic before??. Fyfe has been getting battered (but not of the pineapple fritter kind) on the field for years under his watch, the most publicised one courtesy of Mitchell, yet only now he rolls out the topic into the public domain. I, for one, am glad the assorted media persons, football watchers and Dockers fans are calling him out for his ********media diversionary tactics, he deserves the media blowtorch on him now as he has escaped it for far too long.

Fagan was very quick to support Neale after the physical treatment he copped from Port. Sutcliffe had the tagging joband interestingly enough was part of Lachie's wedding party.

When you start complaining that Cam Sutcliffe is roughing you up, you have to look at your life choices.

The annoying part of this is that the guys dishing out the treatment wouldn't have guts to do it if the recipient were allowed to retaliate. I think it was Brereton commented a few weeks ago after the pinching affair that had they done it someone like Diesel Williams he would have turned around and decked them. And Robbie Muir would have knocked them into next week. The media partly cause the problem by billing these guys as tough when in actual fact they are quite limited in the courage department and tend to squeal if they cop any of their own treatment.

Brereton is stupid. They're not knocking people into next week. They're bumping them, niggling them and playing defensively against them.

This is what Fyfe said about it.

"I’m a little bit beaten up, but hopefully no structural damage that will keep me outnfor the rest of the year at all"

"I mean it comes with the territory. Dangerfield deals with it, Cripps deals with it, Gary Ablett’s
dealt with it for a long time"

"Afterwards there was a bit of carry on where they try to hit your elbow and hit your shoulder.
It’s a nasty industry, but I’m not complaining. Players will always go to the edge."

I've been saying that since the video reviews come in, Gumnut. But the AFL let it roll, by dishing out millions in fines each year to players who are well overpaid, meanwhile the players we turn up to watch are bashed out of the game by R16.

Edit, Yes, fine Shane, but using Gaff v Brayshaw as an extreme example, or any of the rough "niggle" that is dished out these days, players used to be discouraged by the fact that they would be sorry for pushing the rules, pre-video review. I agree with Brereton, if they had to cop back what they are dishing out, with a bit extra as disincentive, we would see less of it. But the AFL is focused on making sure no-one retaliates for this stuff, so the perp gets away with it and the player sticking up for his teammate cops time.

That's the problem here. The AFL can continue to protect these snipers and we now have Cripps, Fyfe and Danger, all Brownlow front runners, beaten from pillar to post and now moving onto Kelly and Bontempelli. I'm sure there's no queues of fans willing to pay money to watch them go about their business.
And yes Shane, Brereton is an idiot but he always expected to cop retaliation for anything he did but these clowns playing today indulge in cheap shots without fear of copping a decent whack. Basically they are better protected by umpires than the stars of our game.
