I have no interest in adding to the doom and gloom around here and would much rather look at some of the talent that may arrive at the club next year. I've given my thoughts on games across the championships on various players but haven't really given a proper write up of Elijah Taylor who was
featured in this article on the AFl site today.
He seemed to be everyone's pick as the bolter across the championships who has that X-factor and incredibly high ceiling with eye catching play throughout. His side step and pace made him difficult to lay a finger on when he had the ball although he didn't get it a heap across the championships.
He roamed half forward and looked dangerous even without the ball. He only averaged 12 touches a game but kicked 6 goals in 4 matches to earn himself an AA jersey. He has plenty of talent and ability which are likely to see him given a chance in that 15-30 range on draft day.
As per the article linked above, Dale Kickett is a relative of his and they are not dissimilar in style of play although I'd probably compare him to another former Docker in Stephen Koops. He's a good size but not quite a key position player. However that doesn't stop him from flying for big marks while being first to his feet and just as dangerous at ground level.
We'd be lucky to have him on the list.
