Lyon is a coach who was an assistant under Parkin, Pagan and Roos and has taken two sides to Grand finals but is one many here don’t rate at all. So if he goes, perhaps we’ll get Sumich and if that’s the case I hope he’s as good as some here are suggesting.
Lyon seems to be a tough bloke and from what I have read was that on the field when he played. He can come across as somewhat arrogant and rub some people up the wrong way, traits which are often admired here.
According to Mick Malthouse there’s a big difference between being an assistant AFL coach and an AFL senior coach and I reckon he would know.
