The AFL policy of children under 6 are free if they sit on the parents knees is being abused and Optus should not be included. It's OK for MCG and Marvel for 90% of the games as theres always spare seats.
This weeks Derby with a capacity crowd my row and the rows behind and front I could have eight kids who ain't sitting on their parents knees, ain't interested in the footy and it is chaos.
On Sunday and with a kick in it with a minutes to go I was under a seat getting a kids pencil, orange, water bottles as the parents were packing up and being the polite human chased the orange.
I brought my kids to the footy from a early age...both had member seating at two years old and in the early 2000's there was plenty of room to move at Subi.
The parents do acknowledge the inconvenience with towards fellow members who are paying over a hundred dollars per game who are being effected by kids playing chasey between rows of seats and up and down the aisle.

Wonder if they count the free under 6 year old's at the turnstile?

Personally the AFL should have a policy banning Mrs Quasi if she isn't off hunting for prosecco, shes trying to find some vegetarian food even though she usually eats meat, or is complaining it cold and spilling her prosecco on me. Dont get me started on the constant requests for Cherry ripe bars and the elbow into my ribs everytime we kick a goal. Shes a bloody menace!.

Mr Quasi I wouldn't complain about getting hit in the ribs when we kick a goal. I bet you saw the goal. I miss goals attending to other people's kids.

Woah, what!? Kids under 6 free at the footy? No one has ever mentioned this to me, ever.

I feel like I wouldn't necessarily have used it, because you know, who's sitting with a kid on your lap, but there's definitely some games where there's thousands of free seats and I could have saved some dollars!!

Mac, I love seeing the young kids at the footy but it is a long day out when they get distracted and no longer want to be there.
As my ageing bones can't handle prolonged sitting, I tend to mainly stand, and here's a suggestion you can make: Optus (unlike Subi) offers plenty of space on the L1 concourse and outside for the kids to run around & let off steam, or even do kick to kick with a small kiddys ball. You get great views of the action and it is uncrowded.

And... you shouldn't have to pick up pens and pencils with a minute to go, just ignore them until the siren goes! Good luck.

I now can live with kids & parents being a nuisance at the game as is nothing compared to a West Coast supporter turning around and clapping another goal.
