He, like D Kickett, Crowley, Hase and a few others (McPhee springs to mind) doesn't need a title to lead the side, and is probably better off doing the job the way he does, as a "do what I do" man. As an aside to the topic, I really think Fyfe has changed his approach to the leadership position this year, and is showing a much more mature and effective approach to the role. He may well have benefitted from a year or 2 more in a vice-captain role, before taking on captaincy.
