Some enlightened bloke,(certainly more so than me), posted early in the season that rucking Lobb all game every game was going to break him physically. Pretty much spot on. Today we saw why it was even more questionable with the game played by young Hodor. He'd be much improved by the run and will only improve further with more game time.
Why he was in the two's I've no idea. More inspired coaching I suppose.
Today we won. I'm happy about that, What struck me about the last quarter was a quarter of football outscoring the opposition 21 points to none should, I would have thought, shown us completely overwhelming the opposition, but it was more of the same relentless pressure some ordinary skill errors and the brilliance of Walters. Not a game style to win
premierships. Just an opinion of course.

The game was close for three quarters and we ran away with it in the final quarter. Walters’ superb goal kicking. One Stephen Hill back on the footy field. The passage of play: Stephen to brother Bradley to Son Son goal was memorable. I agree with Shane our best performance for the year so far. Sean Darcy took it right up to the more credentialed Paddy Ryder and ex-slime lycett. Our defenders and Logue’s return to footy.

The not so good

Fyfe & Milly thing. Simply superb! We can say a whole lot about our club, but that sort of stuff, well, we are league leaders IMHO.... and its sonething that I am very proud of us being.

Liked 70% of the things Griffin Logue did. Hope he keeps injury free and the nerves settle..y..hes got a great left foot!, and when he works out where the boundary line is, its gonna be great to have kickers like him, Ryan and Wilson delivering from the back half

Agree with you on all that, Cletus. The "Fyfe & Millie" is something that is bred into the Freo footy club, I know Jeff Farmer had the same approach to these kids through family experience, and just got off the phone talking to my sister about it. I reckon it comes from the influence of Gerard Neesham at the beginning, and also from the number of players we have who grew up in the bush, and had to look after those younger and sometimes a lot less fortunate than themselves.

Playing under 13's with &against 6 or 7 year olds teaches you that it isn't always about how many goals, sometimes it's about who gets the goals.

As for Ryan, pretty handy, but we have a pretty handy player running around at pick 58 who could be our best ever draft bargain, I reckon.
