I think that our entire game mentality could change with Fyfe at CHB for 3 or 4 weeks. His marking, and long kicking down the middle would give us a chance to attack hard and fast. Collingwood were caught out after half time by our use of the corridor, and seemed to think we would revert at some stage to the boundary hugging of Lyon Strategy. Logue to come in for Pearce for sure, but play him on the ball and forward. I don't think he could slot straight in and gel with our defense, Fyfe covered for Pearce brilliantly on Saturday, and has more footy smarts than Logue. Logue could do the job if we were to go back to the "keep the opposition under 4 goals, and we will try to score 4 goals 2" game plan, but with our new attacking strategies we need a smart footballer back there.
Some on here have claimed that Collingwood play a boundary line style of game, citing them as a beacon of success for Lyon's style of play, and something for Freo to strive to emulate, but my observations from the other night showed that they went through the corridor most times they went into attack. And when they switched, they did it quickly, not waiting for players to position themselves for "set plays".
