I would like to confess as well. Halfway through the second quarter i had given us up for dead. Thought a ten goal loss was on the cards and posted as such.

I'm not taking it back. At 4-2 and beating GWS I thought they'd turned the corner and was prepared to give him a chance.

Then 3 appalling losses followed by 2 lucky wins.

Three of the five wins have been by less than a goal. Yes, the biggest loss has been by only 25 points but in the last two games Freo have had terrible patches and I couldn't believe they won either of them.

Lyon can't beat Hawthorn teams: WCE, Richmond or Hawthorn themselves. He doesn't know how to set up a forward line. (OK he can beat Carlton but who can't.)

They might play finals or just miss out but his style of coaching has finally lost me.

Yesterday was euphoric. But really we are a mediocre team. We make too many unforced errors. Our backline is good our midfield mediocre and our forward line still dysfunctional. We might or might not make the finals. I think more likely the latter.

But we have improved from last year. Lyon needs to let the players play a more instinctive and attacking style. We play to minimise the loss because he can’t have another loss like the one against Geelong and seek an extension

If I was on the board I would let him see out the year appraise where we are at this time next year and if not 8-3 then let him go put in an interim and Look for a new one like the Roos are doing. To be honest I’d let him go now but we can’t afford to pay him and a replacement next season. The soft cap makes it impossible to sack a coach before their last year if contract.

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is insanity.
