Heard on Sports Radio the name of Michael Knoll the SA ruckman as a possible acquisition.
Did anyone see the game and do you rate him?
Mature age I know bit needs must....

I don't know anything about Knoll but my concern is that we'll be in it just because we can be and then we'll be saddled with another player on our list that we don't play. Just like we got excited about the free agency stuff and clogged the list with players who we would never have taken under normal circumstance.

The other concern is that we would be in a position where we have to take yet another ruckman, in a repeat of a few years ago when we kept recruiting big forwards who couldn't play that well, before giving up and just declaring that Taberner was the answer all along.

If he's a mobile ruckman that could make sense, but if he's another lumbering brontosaurus that will do my head in.

Knowing our recruiting department, he'll be the second type.

If we do take him, his nickname will be Grassy.

We haven't played any of the draftees from last year because we didn't need any of them. Six months later and we still don't need them.

So sure, like tinned tomatoes in the cupboard you always reckon you'll use them - might as well get another tin, the best available.

RR - If there are any Goodies fans here, and I know there are...might I suggest 'Nutters' as an alternative?

Polly unfortunately those previous recruits at WAFL level lack the skill level to play at AFL level. They will need to continue to develop them to the standard of their senior team mates. If they don’t manage to do this we will have no choice but to delist them and other clubs will be stuck with them.
We just can’t afford to continue to tolerate slow low skilled players like Matt Deboer any longer.

I think they're mentioning Knoll as a bluff.

it all depends on whether we are going to rort the system like probably most others and stockpile a young talent or if there is someone to cover for Darcy and Tabs NOW - if thats what we think we need. That young ex bloke now playing for East Fremantle might do the later if they think he can step up.

If there is a gun youngster available who was overlooked in the other two drafts but is now worthy of secret rorting practices, I would encourage it. I don't see the rort part of it though. If you do it right the first time you don't need this ridiculous draft.

I’d just take Subi’s best player whoever it is to slightly boost Peel’s chances of winning the flag.

DBTS, those recruits had the skill for AFL, but a few months in the Lyon system soon sorted that problem out.

Not good Polly. You're always willing to tell a good carpark story or such but now you've gone all coy?
