I don't see any value in Conca playing (or off field) and see even less in Colyer while their cost isn't really relevant when Dutchy was already here. That's in addition to other older types we've brought in who struggle to nail a spot in the side despite our poor results. Plenty of older players like Kersten, Matera, McCarthy or the mature agers we've drafted in like Bewley, Schultz, Switkowski, Meek, Jones and Watson who occupy spots on the list but don't really contribute much to the side. That doesn't take into account previous list fillers like Sheridan and Sutcliffe who should have been cut well before Dutchy (or Barlow).
Maybe they will contribute in time, maybe they won't, you can guarantee Dutchy would have contributed a hell of a lot more than any of them over the same period though. We knew how good a person and role model he was, how physically and mentally strong he was both on and off the field. These are immeasurable attributes that you need at a footy club, especially when you're expecting an influx of fresh, young footballers.
