Woosha and Suma back together, the prodigal sons returning back to Fremantle.

Half right, Hypen.

Anyway, I blame the AFL for not deregistering Lyon for Conduct Bringing the Game into Disrepute.

You really think they'll do any of those things Morgan? Doing nothing and staying on message seems to be the thing FFC does.

What makes you think any external review will be done. Who will instigate that?

The Review Instigation Panel, but that would have to be activated by the Need For Action Committee. The trouble with getting that activation would lie in identifying the NEEFAC members and getting them to agree to the RIP.

You won't get ripped without a neefac and you need that neefac on your side.

I'm sure you see the problem.

iv. bring in the anointed successor now, to sit beside Ross in the box. Sumich, or Broadbridge.

Drubbing, I take a reasonably dim view of the current Board and admin. Obviously as a fan I don’t know the inner-workings of the club, but from the outside I don’t agree with a lot of decisions the club has made. I said at the time extending Lyon to such a long-term contract was a mistake, and I don’t feel good about the way the club generally appears to conduct its business.

If I feel that way, and I’m generally one the less-easily aggrieved posters on this place (especially about Lyon), then I think I’m assuming people who care enough to think about the club have even stronger views.

My sense is that eventually things will come to a head, deflection and ‘staying on message’ won’t cut it, and Bell and the Board will go into self-preservation mode. I don’t think they will have the fortitude to make a call on Lyon themselves, especially as most of them are complicit in giving him such a long contract in the first place (which will cost the club millions). So they’ll get a ‘respected outside voice’ to come in and do the dirty work for them.

I think the members of the Board who made the decision to extend Lyon did so with good intentions and I although I didn’t agree with the decision I understood the logic; however if and when Lyon goes, I think the people who signed off on the extension should probably go with him.

Personally, I don’t think there are enough lawyers on the Board - there are currently zero, can you believe it!

When you get paid out as much as an AFL coach, you are not poorly treated. It’s a harsh environment, they all know that.

From my understanding if you sack a coach inside their contract the payout money is included in your soft salary cap for the footy dept, this may be why some coaches are surviving to the end of their contracts.

Ross whether we like it or not is probably with us until the rear end of next year. As we cant pay him out and get in a new coach within our soft cap.

Dear board.

Is this the intended outcome of your decision to axe Harvey in September 2011? For that matter, extending Lyon's contract in March 2016? If you wished to achieve a nadir for joyless football you have succeeded beyond expectations. Congratulations.

You have torched a premiership window, wasted footballing careers, and facilitated and rewarded a self-justifying madman. Indeed, you have fiddled while Rome burned. Meanwhile, we are footballing pariahs, we stand for nothing of note, and supporters of Fremantle remain in the wilderness. I wish you could understand how poor your decision-making has been, in the cold, hard light of day- and I wish you could be held to account. I wish you cared.

I don't think many are advocating that Lyon be removed immediately. He's capable for sure. He's got to change his ways and this time the moment he hits a speed bump he can't revert to type.

Lyon as a minimum will see out his contract. There isn't the oversight at Fremantle that exists at other AFL clubs, I think this is the genesis of the frustration - that what we witnessed on Saturday night will be the status quo as there is no one with the will or integrity to take a stand against our methods.

Does there come a point where Lyon decides that he has to change his spots to survive? In particular, getting stronger people as assistants and giving them free rein. I'm not sure, and if he doesn't, then he does have to go. We were at our best under Harvey when one of the Scott brothers was an assistant, and under Lyon when Kirk was an assistant.
Its the star player syndrome - they may win you the game, but the best way they can do this is by getting the best out of those around them.

Lyon won't change. If he wanted to, or could, have would have by now.

I reckon he's spinning his wheels, knowing the financial bind he has FFC in. Win or lose, I don't think he cares that much, as there seems no pressure on him at all.

After his tenure, an easy career in the Vic media awaits. Talking is what he seems to excel at.
