If you won’t look at the stats of the guy you are paying to present this rubbish you call football to your fans, maybe I can put it into corporate speak you might understand.

You are not winning fans. The entertainment product you are offering is the worst in the league. It’s like a B grade movie starring Keanu Reeves. Like point break you are making money off us but the acting is total crap.

In a 2 team town who do you think the next generation of footy fans are going to follow? A recent premiership winning team who play attacking football, exhibit exceptional skills and are exciting to watch, or a defensive , skill-less rabble who are lucky to kick over 8 goals in any particular match? Your decision to keep on this coach who has produced nothing of real substance in 8 years is costing you money $$$ and will do so in there future if you don’t act.

Sure we played in a GF in 2013 but blind Freddy could have coached that squad and won with Pav, McPharlin, Mundy, Fyfe, Walters etc all. Harvey had done all the hard work until you stabbed him in the back so Lyon could try and win the accolades but again failed. Since the start of 2015 the FFC has been a joke.

We know what to expect from Lyon. Effort sure, but no skills and no attacking system. Week after week the excuses and cliches are bandied about and every now and again things look promising on the field but within a few short weeks we are reminded that we have not come very far at all when we are exposed by real football teams. This is losing you money. $$ Attendances and memberships will drop. I’m embarrassed to wear freo merchandise. Get rid of Lyon!

Time for a new coach, New ideas, a focus on skills. We are destined to finish around 14th again this year, 4 years into a rebuild. You promise so much but deliver the same crap. Take some responsibility, it’s time for Lyon to go, he gave it a crack but the game styles have passed him by.

Oh the shame
my 6 yo Grandson turned up to a picnic wearing an eagles cap.
The dockers one has been retired to the bottom drawer
So yeah they will loose support if nothing is done

Edit
He was born after our only GF which makes him 5 with the Dockers being Carp for his whole lifetime.
Playing Auskick where the organisers cheer the Eagles and hand out free hats didn't help

Administrations in the afl have adopted a ‘stability at all cost’ attitude in recent years and it has become mantra. Alan Richardson at St.Kilda has the second worst coaching record in footy history over 100 games and doesn’t really look like losing his job, Bolton has probably the worst record of a coach in 20 plus years, Ken Hinkley is one of footy’s great survivors when you look at the list he has had to work with, Brad Scott struggles along, and we all know where Fremantle are at with Lyon.
I don’t get it myself. All of these coaches would have lost their jobs in previous eras. There is so much groupthink in the league at the moment, from a goal kicker running off the ground after a goal, to the lack of tagging of the best players. Geelong could tell their full forward to stand on his head all game long and you could guarantee teams would be copying it within weeks. It seems to all stem from Richmond finally winning a flag after years of sticking with Hardwick. Suddenly that is the template for success. You just need to double down on what your club is doing and work harder.

It's an industry where no one really has any idea what they're doing and they're terrified everyone will find out.

We will never win a flag with Ross !
We aren't getting any kind of system to work with .
Players will retire and the others will want to leave !
The rebuild will have gone nowhere and no players will want to come to Freo .
We are going to be a basket case for a long time to come !

And nothing is being done !

They’d be turning over coaches faster than leaders in an Australian political party if every coach who didn’t get in the finals was sacked.

I don't think any of those coaches u mentioned apart from maybe Hardwick (that won a premiership) comes anywhere near to what Lyon earns..........and also considering the brand of unwatchable football that Lyon is dishing out, is exactly what the AfL wants stamped out and the fans don't want to see.

I have said it before and I will say it again, Ross Lyon has morphed into Mick Malthouse during his time at Carlton.
Boring footy, safety first and no element of entertainment.....oh and the game passed him by too.

The hardest thing in football must be for a coach to change his/her ways. Think of all the pressure, Lyon has experienced relative success playing a certain way, I think it's his safety blanket.

I watched a few games over the weekend and plenty were keeping their structure forward of the ball. Not all the time but some of the time.

Things went south after a great win on the road playing a strong opponent in GWS, we were scratchy against the Bulldogs the following week and then it's been a rapid descent.

Im wondering after the GWS game if Lyon said, "awesome win boys but we moved away from our brand". If that is wrong, can anyone explain our approach to football over the last four weeks? Forget wins and losses, I've seen a complete surrender of forward structure ahead of the ball.

Did Lyon see a loss of control after the GWS game?

I don’t think Bell or the Board would consider sacking Lyon before the end of the season, but there’s no basis to extend Lyon, so that puts everyone in a difficult position. No club wants a coach heading into a season out of contract, which Lyon would be at the end of 2020, and Lyon has shown by taking the job at Freo he values security almost above all else.

That’s a tricky balancing act for Bell and the Board to walk.

I think it’s one thing as a fan to say ‘sack the coach’, and another thing for a Board to pull the trigger. I’m wondering what process from here people would follow?

i. Would you sack Lyon now and pay out a couple of million dollars? Who would you install as caretaker coach?

ii. Would you put in place a target for Lyon: say, Bell publicly or privately saying that Freo expects to play finals and a failure to do so would likely end in Lyon’s dismissal?

iii. Would you keep Lyon to the end of the year, but start considering alternative options (if not already) if things don’t turnaround?

I would tend towards the third option. I don’t think there is a lot to be gained by sacking a coach that has a team one game out of the eight. When you’re trying to recruit a coach, you need to be a little careful about how you deal with the previous coach. This is especially the case given how poorly we treated Harvey.

The challenge with that option is how do you plan for a potential future, without white-anting the coaches by talking with other people? Footy is a pretty small industry. This is where you need to leverage your footy relationships, and looking at our off-field team, my guess would be that isn’t a strength.

If we continue to suck, my money would be on an external review by about round 16.
