Check out what Crowls says, from the horse's mouth on his Twitter feed. I doubt he's spruiking for an assistant's job by sucking up about the game plan:

He’s also not saying “play this way so you don’t get blown out of the water.” He’s saying “You don’t win shootouts as an away team against the Crows at Adelaide Oval. And as for the Crowls missing footy with injury or taking something illegal, I reckon other posts have been deleted simply for their mean-spiritedness.
I get the whole “I hate Ross Lyon vibe” because we’ve yet to win a premiership under his watch, and for other reasons. At this time, Freo is playing hard, contested footy and we are on an upward trend. While I hoped to win yesterday, I couldn’t fault the way in which we played or competed.
