Yes Matt, we can win stoppages, but particularly in our losing games, we are butchering that inside 50 kick.
More control/skill at the won stoppage/clearance, and more vision and spread by the forwards in anticipation of clearance coming their way. And by spread, I mean some alternative options. The backs have to react and maybe free up one on ones. If Hogan, Tab, Lobb, even Matera are given at least a 50 50 chance with the incoming ball, I would back them to win out most times.
But when you see the ball kicked to a stationary tall fwd with three defenders around him...I groan, swear, curse, call for coach sackings, swear some more...and finally look for the cat post loss.
