While we've been discussing how Darcy needs to do more to get a game, what has happened to young Tom North?

There was plenty of positive talk about him pre season yet he didn't get a run in the JLT series even though we were light on for midfielders. Someone said recently that he's not actually that good. Well, I was looking through the Record from last week's game and he is 8th in the competition for disposals, 3rd for handballs and 10th for tackles. In fact he's the only Peel player except for Ugle(7 goals kicked) that is the top ten of any of the lists.

So what is he doing wrong? Bewley was just named in this weeks squad after little impact at all, Schultz has played two games and Blakely is sure to get in before him.

Are his cards marked already?

I reckon the coaches will say he has to brush up on some aspects of his game. Blah blah blah
I remember Jacob Ballard a few seasons back. Dominated at Peel, a sandover fancy, 188cm and around 90kgs, big possession winner. Never got a sniff of a game apart from end of season resting of players. That was peculiar. Hope North is not another one of the same.

I’ve not seen him play but has been compared to Brady Grey, who didnt stand up to comparison with Blakely or Weller when at Peel.
Hopefully those to who is preferred have the poise required to execute their skills, Switsunday and Bewley.

He's got good skills - but he looked like he was 12 when we drafted him, probably looks like he's getting close to his 13th birthday at the moment. When he starts shaving he should be good to go.

We drafted him because he is best mates with Cerra, so when he signs a very long term contract, North’s job will be completed.
To get a game North will have to do some amazing work for Peel to make the coaches reconsider.

North is an inside mid where as Bewley runs. Just no spots for inside mids, Blakely can't get a game.

North is a good player. He'll get his chance.

Wouldn’t it be great if they got rid of them altogether along with Melbourne, St Kilda, The Western Bulldogs, GWS and Gold Coast. 22 rounds between 12 very strong teams with much stronger secondary comps.

Good to see Ballard getting the opportunity he deserves at another club. They've seen the afl potential that we never realised.

Hughes has seemed to do well after a year long stint in the reserves.
Watching North, I can honestly say I can't see him getting a game any time soon. Maybe the back end of the season
