In the final few minutes of the last game Joel was barely walking around, sort of like the Tin Man from that Judy Garland movie. When the siren sounded he just fell in a heap on the ground - Tory Dickson lifted him up for a handshake and a hug. I thought he needed a couple of days rest and a big box of donuts.

I agree, Hodor should come in - we'll need a ruck to give Lobby a chance to get up forward into the action.

Players earn their positions. Throwing in guys so they can have a taste is a luxury afforded to very good teams, and against lesser opposition.
We need to beat Adelaide and I don't reckon now is the time to flirt with form. Cerra is really starting to blossom. Brayshaw is getting there. Swit and Nyhuis performed really well, it would be a wrong message to send.
Yes, we have first 22 guys itching to get back but they are young, let them apply themselves in the twos.

Need to get Darcy in to gel with the midfield or park him in the goalsquare to feed Matera.
I feel like we lose an opportunity to develop this bloke if he's stuck in the 2nds

Darcy still young, he will develop and gain confidence at Peel. He has to get around the ground more, contest pack marks...have more impact. If Lobb wasn't doing well then Darcy inclusion could be justified. One day, but not quite now, in my opinion.

Those wanting Darcy in at the expense of players doing well obviously haven't been watching him at Peel. He's been struggling to get around the ground and not getting in positions to take big grabs and control the game at that level. He might get a run but couldn't be because of his Peel form.

Suker and Wingman. I was lucky enough to have 5 freo players come and take training for my year 3s during the week.
The general vibe (pollyanna style) was Darcy needs to do more around the ground both in the air, aerobically and possession wise.
Lobb (much to his disdain) will play ruck until Darcy shows some more in the twos and does as RTB asks.
In other little things I managed to gauge out.
They all rate Brennan Cox, They say he is a freak at everything and capable of "Fyfe" like traits.
Blakely was expecting to play for Peel again and hopes to play vs Tiges as he couldnt get near it last week.
Coniglio is no chance to join freo apparently
Logue has never been fitter and raring to go.
The feeling around the club is the best it has been for many years. Exciting Times.

They lost the Gold Coast game because they were too top heavy. You can't bring a tall in without another going out at the moment.

So unless Hamling is injured (and Lyon said on Ch. 7 he was OK), I can't see any changes. Perhaps Duman for Nyhuis but I'd be happy with either.

We need the 4 points, start rotating players once there is more certainty around finals potential (or not).

Great work Demo, so are you allowed to divulge who the 5 players were?

I agree with others on here, You can't drop players if the team is winning just to give other players ago, if you have injuries then you replace with the best performing player in the two's, just like how Duman now has to wait for a spot to open up .
If we lose you can replace the worst performers with the best form players in the two's.

Making the Peel players hungry for a chance can only improve the depth of our squad, as long as the players know that if they're playing well when injury or omission of the main list happens they'll get their chance.

I hope when S Hill is ready to go he is forced to play WAFL until he earns his spot back in the team (he's missed far to much football to come straight in), this will show the players it's the same rules for all and make them play better as a team.

Cox Fyfe-like? That would be special. Not sure how he goes over 2km time trial, but is definitely more mobile than Darcy. Maybe long term could be an on-baller, and if he can jump...possibly as a shortish ruckman?
Anything is possible Ross...keep an open mind.

Darcy dropped quite a few marks last week and looked out of shape, but he isn't the only one struggling at Peel. I was hoping that Bewley would have an impact and put some pressure on to be selected but it wasn't the case, against subi at least. There were no stand-outs unfortunately.

Good call wingman, demo1: I stand corrected about Sean Darcy's current deficiencies.
My concern is about how many rucks we have drafted - as opposed to trade-ins - who simply get delisted after a few years in a crowded system at Peel because of <insert as desired: overdrafting of rucks/not up to it/impaired development/...>

Wasn't Bailey Banfield BOG for Peel a couple of weeks ago? Where is he at?
